Our dear friend and longtime NYV loyalist favorite winemaker Francesco is back in New York City and of course, we're doing a dinner together. Fourteen of his Brunelli going back more than 20 years will be on display.
Under the stewardship of Francesco and his two siblings (Simonetta and Marco) Canalicchio has been a rocket ship in quality. By adding the single vineyard Cru's (La Cassacia and Montosoli) and other huge advances like a major replanting program while still only making Brunello with OLD VINES planted by his grandfather, a full conversion to organic farming, and a full modernization of the cellar, the winery is performing at an all time high.
