2022 Bryan Deleu Saint-Joseph Rouge "Exorde"

The '22 "Exorde" was sourced from two vineyards located at the northern end of the Saint Joseph AOC.  Deleu de-stems everything and elevage takes place in a combo of demi-muids and foudres.  You can smell the Rhone Valley on the nose - classic olive tapenade and red fruits with an herbal tinge engulf the senses.  On the palate the journey continues with dense red fruits offset by classic garrigue, underbrush and the mildest hints of mild gaminess.  A very fine line of refreshing acidity and fine minerality help kick this beauty across the finish line 45+ seconds later.  It's an excellent expression of both Northern Rhone Syrah, as well as Saint-Joseph as an individual appellation.
