2023 Fabrice Gasnier "Le Clos de la Cure" Chinon Blanc
"Clos de la Cure" is 100% Chenin Blanc that comes from Gasnier's terraced vineyards just outside of the village of Chezelet, a couple miles up river from the town of Chinon. The vines thrive in clay-limestone soils that clearly play a serious role in keeping this wine in its racecar shape; that and the fact that (after a hand harvest) elevage takes place in 100% stainless steel, with some fine lees contact during aging.
