2021 Domaine Valma Fleurie Les Labourons Prelude

Armed with an incredible pink granite soil that only the very best plots in Fleurie can claim, this site sits above La Madone and is treated to cooler conditions than most in the region. This helps bring a gorgeous natural acidity to the wine, and it matches perfectly with the pristine organic red fruits, spicier notes, and a silky smooth finish. 

What’s super impressive about this is that even in the inaugural vintage (and a tricky vintage in Fleurie at that), the Mathieus have already left a strong impression on the wine world. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate loved their releases, noting that they are “more than credible and bode well for the future of this newcomer domaine.”
