2016 Claudia Ferrero Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

This one comes from 250 meters above sea level and only features the very best bunches. It also happens to come from one of Brunello's all-time greatest vintages. The soil here is low in fertility and rich in clay, giving the perfect pourous conditions for expressive and elegant Sangiovese. This one sees 33 months in oak and wasn't bottled until the very end of December 2019. It has seductive baking spice aromas that pour out of the bottle once you pop the cork. The structure and elegance is on full display even with a full body with lots of intensity. So beautifully balanced and pure. A showstopper indeed.
