2000 Carpineta Fontalpino ‘Do Ut Des’ Toscana
The wine that Cresti and Ferrini made together is called “Do Ut Des” (“reciprocity” in local dialect). It’s a seamless blend of 1/3 each of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. It's a bottling that upon a blind taste you might first mistake for one of the great Super-Tuscans or bottlings from Bolgheri legenda like Ornellaia or Sassicaia.
