2005 Margaux Side-By-Side Sampler (Rauzan Gassies, Ferriere)
$240.00
At this point in time, the Ferriere is more evolved and is in peak drinking form. It’s a well-polished wine with no shortage of elegance. It’s got a little bit of a lighter, more reserved, classic style of the two and should drink beautiful for another 5-7 years. The Rauzan Gassies is a brawnier, more energetic Bordeaux that is still bursting with energy and freshness (pretty remarkable considering the age). It’s a richer, denser style than the Ferriere that shows the more bold side of Left Bank Bordeaux, but still has good shoulders and plenty of aging potential.
