Staffelter Hof first appears in texts as far back as 862 AD, however, this historic estate is at the forefront of the natural wine movement in Germany. Led by 7th generation winemaker Jan Klein, the wines coming from Staffelter Hof are mesmerizing.

The Riesling is light and bone dry, with an insanely refreshing minerality that blasts over the palate. Effortlessly drinkable, but incredibly complex. The Pinot Noir (or Spätburgunder as the locals call it) Burgundian in style, offering the finesse and balance of a village-level Burgundy.

Domaine Klein Little Red Riding Wolf

Categorically chillable, varietally true, charming, exuberant Pinot with terrific freshness and the special light touch that Jan consistently achieves in his wines. A jumble of red berry fruits - raspberries, cherries, and blackberries - with the dirt still clinging to them. The Pinot-on-slate component adds a minerally note up front and a salty tang. This would be a very cool pairing with soy sauce or fish sauce cuisines (Thai, Vietnamese, some Japanese dishes).

Domaine Klein Klein Papa Panda's Riesling

This delicately bronze-colored wine offers telltale scents of almond, baked apple and orange peel, all wrapped into some smoky and earthy elements. It proves delicately full-bodied on the still slightly bitter and harsh palate but shows already its beauty in the long and gorgeously suave yet racy finish. The balance in the after-taste is impeccable, as the mouthcoating flavors of nut and baked apple are beautifully wrapped into some tart and zesty minerals. This wine could easily turn out even better than expected as it fleshes out and gains finesse over the coming years
