REVA 2018 Barolo Cannubi
Vintage: 2018
Producer: Réva
Alcohol: 15%
Reva makes wines that are firmly influenced by Piedmont and the existing winemaking culture, however they are also looking to push this culture forward. Reva’s wines are crafted by “Langarolo” Gian Luca Colombo, one of the rising stars in Italian winemaking. Winner of the Gambelli award for best young Italian winemaker in 2014, Langarolo (amazing nickname meaning “Man of the Langhe”) grew up in the Langhe area and has always aspired to be a Piedmontese winemaker.
Cannubi is Cru Barolo and many people believe this to be some of the best of the best. Cannubi is the long, gradually rising hill in the centre of the Barolo area and benefits from its own microclimate and unique soil composition -New York Vintners
" Bright raspberries and red cherries on the nose, colored with notes of roses, ripe watermelon and dry soil. Medium-bodied with lightly firm tannins and lots of immediacy on the palate. This is hyper-tense and brimming with exciting, youthful energy. Super length already. Exuberant and exciting to taste now, and you might well be tempted. But this is a classy Cannubi for the cellar. Best from 2024 or 2025." -95 Points, James Suckling
