Varietal: Nebbiolo 100%
Reva makes wines that are firmly influenced by Piedmont and the existing winemaking culture, however they are also looking to push this culture forward. Reva’s wines are crafted by “Langarolo” Gian Luca Colombo, one of the rising stars in Italian winemaking. Winner of the Gambelli award for best young Italian winemaker in 2014, Langarolo (amazing nickname meaning “Man of the Langhe”) grew up in the Langhe area and has always aspired to be a Piedmontese winemaker.
The 2016 Barolo Lazzarita Riserva from REVA is simply put an age-worthy beauty. This is the maximum expression of the power of Nebbiolo at REVA. It's rich, and impeccably structured and balanced and boasts inviting expressions of ripe red fruit that evolve into notes of tobacco and mint. This comes from the sacred Barolo town of Serralunga d'Alba. It's a super tiny production of only 1000 bottles in the best vintages. -New York Vintners
"This Lazzarito - the first Riserva released from the estate is great. A progressive nose of smokiness, licorice sticks and cinchona bark (the source of quinine) combines with parma violets and clay minerality, enhanced by fresh pomegranate and strawberry." -97 Points, Decanter
