Mezcal Macurichos Destilado de Agave Maguey Blanco

This one comes from Oaxaca tequila legends Machurichos Mezcal. They’re one of the few remaining champions of the Ancestral distilling methods including horse-drawn stone tahona and clay pot stills. This is about as special a single barrel as they come. There were literally only 78 liters of this gorgeous high proof (52.83% alc) Agave Spirit made from maguey Blanco, a subspecies of Agave americana. It’s the rarest of all the agave growing in Mexico, a giant plant where the harvested heart can weigh 1300-1600 pounds alone.
