Akashi is like Eigashima Shuzo’s S.W.A.T. team. They’re a tiny but very mighty crew of six people whose releases have seized the attention of whiskey buyers ALL AROUND THE WORLD. Nothing they do is a gimmick, everything has purpose and is vigorously planned. Their Goju Sherry Cask Malt & Grain is a particular special release because of all the thought that went into it. It’s distilled twice in Copper Pot stills and then aged for three years in a variety of different barrels — a constant song and dance trying to find the right balance – and then finished for roughly two more years in Sherry Casks.
