"Montbourgeau is the leading producer in the village of l'Etoile, where they produce a full range of wines that, until recently, were made in a very traditional style. With the arrival of the third generation, there are also some floral ouillé whites. I love the elegance and minerality of their wines, and this time I was very surprised by a beautifully perfumed red produced with Poulsard." -Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
For decades, this wine has been made by bucking Jura's traditional methods and fermenting Chardonnay and Savagnin together instead of separately. It allows for a close marriage between the two with similar ripening times and splicing personalities. But unlike the "En Banode", this is topped off constantly, allowing for no air to mess with this unique expression and ensuring an incredibly concentrated, pungent and vibrant blend.
