"The 2017 Piedirosso Kerres lifts up with an intensely fruit-forward yet irresistible display that mixes crushed raspberries, black cherries and licorice with grounding notes of crushed ashen stone, savory herbs and a bump of vibrant acidity. There's so much going on here, with remarkable concentration and energy that remains remarkably high, even as a coating of fine tannins gently tugs at the palette throughout the long and staining finale. The 2017 is already showing beautifully, yet it could use another year of cellaring to come fully into focus. This is an amazing success for the vintage." -93 Points, Vinous

Founded in 2002, the I Pentri winery is the result of the vision of two people who spent ten years tending the vineyards of the surrounding wineries. Today, husband and wife team Dionisio Meola e Lia Falato farm ten hectares of their own terraced vineyards on the hills of Monte Taburno and in the southeast of Matese, in the Benevento region of Campania. For them, it’s about a connection to nature and the history of their land, which they seek to express with a selection of Piedirosso, Aglianico, Falanghina, and Fiano vines made with organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyard, and without any chemical agents or mechanical processes in the winery. The wines are intense, wild, showing remarkable depths and sometimes even a bit of a rustic quality, yet in the best possible way. I was able to taste multiple vintages of the Kerres - Piedirosso, Flora - Falanghina, and L'Amore delle Api - Fiano, which demonstrated not just how beautiful and vibrant these wines are in their youth, but also as they mature -Vinous
