The 2016 vintage was phenomenal here - just long and slow with hangtimes weeks longer than normal. Winemaker Richard Luftig crafted a superb bottling of Cabernet in 2016, balancing the natural power and concentration of the vintage with the aromatic complexity, lift, and energy of wines that are generally 3x the cost. Be sure to drink in a big glass to best capture the aromas of red fruit, violets, and graphite. They get better with air so take your time. The fruit is layered and keeps coming on, with a supple texture and a savory, mile-long finish.
