Tenuta Delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso 'Anniversario - Calderara Sottana' 2022 

Terre Nere means black earth and refers to the volcanic soils on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. Craftsmanship, creativity, purity and vibrancy are the hallmarks of Marco de Grazia's winemaking project begun just over two decades ago, and his wines are SHOWSTOPPERS that you might think come from two centuries of winemaking experience.

The 2022 vintage on Mount Etna shows an excellent balance between fruit, weight, power, and mineral tension. Showcasing more silken fruit, the wines show the lift of red fruit on the nose with flecks of blackberried notes coming through on the palate, while the spine of the wines scream savory minerality. Each wine tells very clearly a story of their home base, like the rocky Calderara Sottana vineyard that showcases elegance with lift in its special 20th Anniversary bottling.
